Where is NPWI located?
The National Praise and Worship Institute (NPWI) is located in the heart of the Christian Music Industry in Nashville, Tennessee and operated at Trevecca Nazarene University.
Is NPWI part of Trevecca University?
Yes. It is one of three departments in the School of Music and Center for Worship Arts.
What types of degrees does NPWI offer?
NPWI has many options: minor, one-year certificate, two-year advanced certificate, Associate of Arts in Praise and Worship, and options to finish with a Bachelor's within four years.
Is the National Praise and Worship Institute a Nazarene theology-based school
Although Trevecca Nazarene University is a denominationally affiliated university, students enrolled in the National Praise and Worship Institute will be encouraged to embrace their own theological heritage. The program is designed to be cross-denominational with theological teaching being biblically-based.
Must I take the theology courses at NPWI?
Yes, because this program is designed for students with a calling to the Church.
What makes NPWI unique?
The goal of the Praise and Worship Program is to provide a creative environment that trains and equips students who desire to be a worship pastor, worship leader, Christian artist, or songwriter for the church. Our curriculum models real world practicums that engage students in a learning environment and that places the band at the center of that training.
Does NPWI follow a traditional schedule?
No. Students take a load of courses built on a pyramid model that build their skills in a progressive order to help them learn faster.
Does NPWI follow the traditional Trevecca calendar?
Yes. NPWI observes the same holiday schedule as all students attending Trevecca University.
Why should I consider NPWI instead of other affordable resources?
The training you receive at NPWI are skills that will prepare you for a variety of positions and help you be effective in the ministry beyond the average span of 5 years.
Am I guaranteed a ministry position as a Worship Pastor when I complete the certificate program at the National Praise and Worship Institute?
No; however, we will be working with Slingshot Ministry Placement services to open opportunities for ministry placement.
